Before- and After-School enrichment program
for Kindergarten through 6th Grade

Participants in high-quality after-school programs go to school more, behave better, receive better grades and perform better on tests compared to students who don’t participate in after-school programs, according to a study of 68 after-school programs conducted by the Afterschool Alliance.

Enriching Before- and After-school care

How your children spend their free time matters more than you think! Our OCC school-age enrichment program offers before-school educational care and after-school enrichment for kindergarten through sixth graders every school day of the year. And in order to meet the needs of working parents, our program is open on most school holidays and school vacations.

Our school-age students engage in discovery-play activities, reading and book-related projects, hands-on science activities, arts and crafts, music, recreational and educational games, while also making time to get help with their homework. They also have access to and benefit from outdoor play on our large playground and sports field.

Busing is provided to and from the Ossining Public Schools.

Daily routines include:

  • View of a residential building with a playground and sports court in front, under cloudy sky.

    Physical activity

Kids get to exercise and play in our outdoor play area.

  • A young boy with light brown hair solving a math worksheet at a wooden table, using a yellow pencil with a red eraser.

    Homework

Your little student will get the help they need to succeed with their daily homework.

  • A child with blond hair wearing a yellow long-sleeve shirt seated on a dark surface, holding a wooden xylophone with colorful bars and a wooden mallet.

    Enrichment Experiences

Enrichment experiences such as music, film-making, and more.

  • A man and a young girl outdoors, with the girl holding a camera, looking focused on taking a picture.

    Mentoring

Kids get 1 on 1 attention with supportive adults.

  • A young girl with blonde hair, wearing a pink and white polka dot long sleeve shirt, is sitting at a wooden table and holding a white bowl with cereal and milk. She is stirring the cereal with a spoon.

    Nutrition

Family-style breakfast, substantial afternoon snack, and lunch on school holidays and vacations.

Vacation and Holiday After and Before Care

We actively work with community partners, such as Teatown Lake Reservation, Jacob Burns Film Center and the Ossining Public Library, who bring a variety of resources to our students. From this, youngsters begin to develop life-long habits of balancing work with leisure in the important time before and after school each day.

Every day encourages a balance of:

  • Family-style breakfast, substantial afternoon snack, and lunch on school holidays and vacations

  • Physical activity in our outdoor play area

  • Help with homework

  • Down time

  • Enrichment experiences such as music, film-making, and more

  • Mentoring relationships with supportive adults

School’s out — but OCC is in!

To meet the needs of working families, full-day enrichment programs are provided during many school holidays and vacations. Projects in the arts, science, math and writing are partnered with an introduction to the recreational and cultural riches of our region through recreational and educational field trips, many of which are included in tuition.
