Volunteer Ways to Volunteer Our Volunteers Volunteer Application Form
Ossining Childrenfs Center could not carry out its mission to support parenting by providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children while their parents are at work without the generous work of volunteers. The Center greatly appreciates the hard work and dedication of its volunteers, and is pleased to recognize the contributions of volunteers in a variety of ways throughout the year.
We are especially grateful to Marly Becker, a Cadet Girl Scout from Troop 1477 (Yorktown) who earned her Girl Scout Silver Award by creating two photographic collages of the 160 diverse children enrolled at OCC. The collages, which celebrates the diverse ethnic composition of our children, are now permanently installed at childrenfs eye level on a prominent wall at the Childrenfs Center. Marly, an eighth grader at Mildred Strang Middle School, raised $250 for her project, which underwrote the framing and mounting of the collages. She spent a week at the Childrenfs Center, taking photos of every child at the Center engaged in a variety of activities.
Congratulations to Emily Pedowitz, founder of the Ossining Children's Center Service Club at Briarcliff High School. Emily graduated from Briarcliff High this June. The service club has painted classrooms at the Center, they ran a holiday toy drive for OCC kids, and worked at the Dine-A-round.
